DIY Bag Fly Repellant
Keep your horse’s stall fly-free! Partially fill a large, clear plastic bag with water. Drop a penny in the bag, then seal the bag. Poke a hole through each of the top corners of the bag, thread a piece of string through the holes and hang the bag from the top of your horse’s stall.
I am very curious if this really works. Does it work for you? I have seen it before at outdoor restaurants.
Dana,
The comments on the source article give this method a mix of reviews. However, in the source article it mentions that at least part of the reason this works is because of the way flies perceive the light reflecting off the bag, so if you try this and it doesn’t seem to be working, maybe try moving the bag to somewhere that has a different lighting angle.
