DIY Horse Smile Trick

Teach your horse to smile! Put a halter and lead on your horse and consider putting your horse in it’s stall to remove distractions. Hold a carrot just out of your horse’s reach. When your horse raises it’s lip to reach for the carrot, reward your horse with a treat and praise. Repeat the trick, adding a command, such as “smile,” and pointing toward your horse’s lips. Reward your horse when it raises it’s lip. Train briefly each day until your horse knows how to smile on request.
