DIY Hobbit Toad House

Make a hobbit-style house for the toads in your garden! Combine cement, pearlite and peat moss. Dig a small hole in the ground in a shady location, press your finger in the center to make a drainage hole, and line the main hole with the cement mixture. Once the mixture has dried, remove it from the hole and carefully use a dull knife to cut out a door and window. Use pieces of wood to make a door for the house and put the door in place, leaving it open wide enough for any toads to enter. Make an X-shape with small wood sticks and press the sticks into the window area. Decorate the house with a sign on the door or flowers and put it in a shaded location.
