Coffee Table Tortoise Terrarium

Modify a glass-top coffee table to house your pet tortoise! Cover the bottom of the coffee table with wood boards and drill holes around the top edge of the table for air. Cover the inside of the table with plastic and fill the base of your terrarium with dirt or sand. Cut a piece of Plexiglas to replace the glass tabletop and cut holes in the Plexiglas to easily lift the top and ventilate the terrarium. Plant tortoise-friendly plants in the terrarium, decorate the tortoise habitat and add furnishings, such as rocks and sticks. Consider digging a low-rimmed bowl of water into the dirt for an in-ground pool and wrapping rocks around a Tupperware lid for a feeding dish.
