DIY Adopt Vest

Let passersby on walks or at the park know that your foster dog is available for adoption! Measure the dog. Draw an oval to the measurements needed on a piece of newspaper, cut out the shape, and use the template to cut out the shape from a piece of fabric. Cut a second oval of fabric slightly larger than the first oval, lay the two ovals on top of each other, and fringe the edges of the larger oval up to the edges of the smaller oval. Attach the small oval on the large oval with double-sided interfacing, fold over the edges of each piece of fringe and iron the fringe pieces in place. Cut strips of webbing for straps and a collar loop, attach the loop on the front of the oval and the straps on either side, and attach Velcro fasteners to the end of either strap. Use stencils and spray paint to write a message on each side of the vest, such as “Adopt me” or “Bring me home with you.”
