DIY Deck Tortoise Box

Build a habitat for your tortoise on your deck or patio! Measure the area and cut pieces of wood to the size needed. Assemble the two sides of the box, attach wood boards across the outer top edges of the remaining sides of the box and attach a wood bar across the center of the box. Assemble four wood bars into a square, attach an additional wood bar across the middle of the square, cover the square with wire mesh and attach the door on the box with hinges. Cut pieces of wood to lay across the open area for a hideaway and attach small wood blocks to the bottom of each piece immediately next to the walls of the box to hold the pieces in place. Cut pieces of linoleum to fit inside the habitat and furnish the habitat.
