DIY Rat Bumblebee Costume

Dress your rat as a bumblebee for Halloween! Measure your rat. Draw the shape of a cape on a piece of newspaper to the size needed with the straps extending out of the top to go around your rat’s neck. Cut out the shape and use the paper template to cut the shape out of yellow felt. Cut out strips of black fabric and glue the strips onto the cape with nontoxic glue to make the bumblebee stripes. Draw the shape of the bee wings on clear rigid plastic paper, cut out the shapes, and draw the wing patterns on with a marker. Glue the wings onto the back of the costume, attach Velcro fasteners on the neck straps, and give your rat some honey to enjoy while wearing the costume.
