DIY Scratching Post Perch

Construct a scratching post with a perch platform for your cat! Find a suitable location in your home for the perch and measure the height needed. Cut a piece of paper into a template for the post with an angled point on the bottom back and top front of the post for stability. Cut a second post for added thickness, drill the post boards together and cut a piece of wood for the perch and base. Cover each platform with industrial felt or carpeting, drill the posts onto the platforms and attach a piece of non-slip fabric to the bottom of the cat tower. Drill one end of the rope in place with a screw, tightly wrap the rope around the post, then attach the other end of the rope in place.
