DIY Snapping Turtle Mud Pool

Assemble a mud pond in your yard for your local or pet snapping turtles! Cut a large plastic barrel diagonally for one half of the barrel to have the entire bottom and the other half to have the entire top. Dig a hole for the bottom barrel half to form a wall of the pool and the remainder of the pool to slant upwards like a ramp. Fill the pool with compost and water, and plant day lilies or lily tuffs around the pool for added shade and decoration. Place several rocks on or around the ramp for added decoration and add water to the pond as needed.
