DIY Spiral Rope Perch

Create a branch-like rope perch for your birds! Get a twisted natural rope, cut it to the desired length for the spiral perch and use tape to secure either end of the rope. Get a plastic rope cap for either end and drill two holes through either rope cap. Thread a wire up through one hole in the cap, then bend the tip of the wire and put it back down through the other hole in the cap. Fill the cap with glue and put the end of the rope into the cap. Gently untwist the top of the rope, put the wire into the twist, let the rope retwist around the wire and continue until the entire length of rope is twisted around the wire. Cut a circle of wood, drill two holes near the center and several holes around the edges.Thread the end of the wire up through one hole in the remaining rope cap and up through one hole in the wood circle, then bend the tip of the wire back down through the other hole in the circle and cap, leaving enough room to hang a lanyard on the bent wire. Glue the cap onto the end of the rope and attach toys for your bird to the open holes in the wood circle.
