DIY Suet Bird Food

Cook a spreadable bird food for your wild neighbors! Combine the oatmeal, corn, flour and chick starter in a bowl and add any special treats, such as nuts or dried berries. Mix the peanut butter, shortening and lard in a separate bowl and microwave the mixture until a liquid. Combine the two mixtures and form the mixture in a small bowl or dish to harden in a certain shape for your suet feeder or slather the mixture on trees or fence posts for the birds to forage.
