DIY Trail Ride Sponge Bath

Keep your horse cool on a trail ride! Give your horse a sponge bath to ensure that it likes it. Select a trail that crosses water. Pack a couple large sponges and rope. At the water crossing, stack the sponges and tie the end of the rope firmly around the middle of the sponge stack. Lower the sponges into the water with the rope, let them soak up some water briefly, then use the rope to pull the sponges back up. Squeeze and sponge the water over your horse’s neck and rump.
