DIY Wood Duck Nest Box
Cut pieces of wood to the sizes needed and cut ridges along the inside of the front wall. Drill two holes overlapping to create an oval shaped hole for the doorway and drill several small holes through the bottom panel of the box. Cut the top of one side wall at an angle and attach that wall to the front and back panels with large screws, keeping the top screws loose enough for the panel to pivot when the lower screws are removed. Assemble the remainder of the duck nest box with nails and fill the bottom of the nest box with wood shavings or pine needles. Hang the duck nest from a tree or fence post and remove the bottom screws from the pivoting panel to open the nest box for cleaning.
