DIY Wood Hitching Post

Place a hitching post in your yard for visiting horses! Cut two long wooden posts and drill shorter wooden poles across the front of the posts. Dig two holes for the posts and plant the posts firmly in the ground. Plant horse-friendly flowers around the post and place a solar light nearby. Consider placing a water trough or tub next to the hitching post, hanging a sign from the bottom post rail, hanging a lead rope on the side of the post or decorating the post with horse shoes.
