Paper Flower Monkey Enrichment

Enrich your monkey or ape’s environment with colorful paper flowers! Gather sheets of tissue paper, set a thin stack of paper in a pile and fold the stack like an accordion folding a strip of one edge forward, then backward, until the entire stack is folded into an accordion style strip. Wrap a piece of wire or string around the center of the stack and cut the ends of the stack into a rounded petal-like shape and separate the sheets of paper on either side of the stack to fluff the flower. Use twist ties to tie the flower onto a wood dowel and tie pieces of ribbon around the twist tie to create leaves. Spray the center of each flower with a perfume or scent that your monkeys will enjoy and place the flowers around your pet’s play area.
