Wood Pallet Insect Habitat

Use wood pallets to assemble an insect habitat for your yard! Place a wood palled upside-down in a partly shaded area and attach wood pallets in a stack. Cut out or add wood boards to various areas around the pallet and gather items to fill the crevices, such as pieces of tile and bricks for amphibians, straw, pine cones and large sticks or logs for small insects and other decorative objects such as a wool rug to roll up, clay planter or corrugated cardboard. Fill the center of the structure first, assemble the hedgehog and amphibian areas around the base of the structure and then fill the exposed areas for bug houses. Decorate the surrounding area and upper levels of the structure with plants, tree stumps and other natural supplies that the inhabitants will enjoy and consider providing a nearby water source.
