Milk Crate Bird Feeder
Make a feeding area for your neighborhood birds! Get a milk crate or similar style of box. Paint or decorate the crate. Glue a wood dowel or stick across the middle of the crate to create a perch area inside. Lay the crate on it’s back and glue several more dowels along the bottom with one end sticking out over the edge of the crate. Hang a smaller wood box from the protruding sticks to accommodate more feeders. Hang strings threaded with Cheerios or other bird treats on the box, as well as suet ornaments. Set egg cartons filled with birdseed inside the box, and put orange peels filled with suet in the smaller hanging box. Hang the feeding station from a tree or porch railing.
