DIY Cat Perch Scratcher

Create a piece of furniture for your cat that provides a cushioned seat and a scratching area! Get an Ikea bed table or make your own by cutting and assembling pieces of wood. Cut a piece of cushion foam or stuffing to fit over the perch area, wrap a piece of decorative fabric over the stuffing, then staple the fabric in place. Make several colorful felt balls, thread the balls onto a string, tying the string before and after each ball to hold them in place, then staple the top of the string onto the side of the scratching area. Staple the end of a piece of sisal rope to the inside of the scratching area, then wrap the rope around the wood, stapling the rope at the top.
