DIY Christmas Tree Pet Safety

Keep your pets and Christmas decorations safe this holiday season! Use duct tape to fasten a piece of mesh over the tree’s water dish to keep your pet from ingesting the toxic water, consider investing in a more sturdy tree stand and spray bitter anti-chew juice on the light strands. Avoid breakable ornaments if possible or attach breakable ornaments with string or duct tape to the higher branches on the tree. Refrain from using tinsel or ornaments that smell like food, remove fallen pine needles regularly and set a baby gate in front of the tree if necessary. Hang ornaments for your pets from the lower branches to distract their attention from your precious ornaments higher up the tree.
