DIY Catnip Extract

Extract the essential oil of catnip for your cat! Fill the bottom of a large saucepan with water and pour in the catnip. Place a steamer over the water, set a glass measuring cup on the steamer and place a glass vile in the center of the measuring cup. Put a glass lid upside-down on the saucepan, boil the water and cover the saucepan lid with ice. Distill the catnip water and continue refreshing the ice and removing the distilled water until you have enough. Pour salt into the catnip water, shake the mixture, allow the mixture to sit and then suction the top layer off the mixture with a turkey baster. Pour the turkey baster liquid into several shot glasses, use an eyedropper to repeat the process twice and drop the liquid through a coffee filter into a glass vile. Place the vile in front of a fan overnight and then allow your cat to sniff the catnip extract.
