DIY Hermit Crab Moss Pit

Create a moss pit in your hermit crab habitat for your pet to molt in, munch on and climb over! Find a suitable plastic container for the moss garden, such as a shower caddy, plastic basket or a storage container. Hang nets, ladders or vines from the sides of the plastic container, use aquarium silicone to decorate the walls of the container with rocks, silk leaves or sea shells, and use suction cups to attach the container to the wall of your crab’s cage. Select moss that is safe for your hermit crab, place several inches of moss in the container and consider mixing in a selection of new seashell houses for your crabs.
