DIY Walnut Treat Forager

Use walnut shells to make a foraging toy for your hamster! Carefully open a walnut to split the shell in two parts and remove the walnut. Hammer a nail into the center of each shell half to make a hole, then remove the nail. Tie a piece of string to a washer, feed the end of the string up through one piece of downward-facing shell, and knot the string on the other side of the shell. Thread shells facing upwards onto the string, knotting the string in between each shell. Chop the walnuts or other treats, sprinkle the treats into the upwards-facing shells and hang the toy in your pet’s cage.
