DIY Chicken Coop Whitewash

Keep pests and weather out of your chicken coop! Get a bag of hydrated lime. Wearing protective gear, mix the lime with some water to make a paint-like consistency. Use a paint brush to apply the lime paint along the edges where two pieces of the coop meet, or paint the entire inside of the coop to brighten the coop interior and disinfect the area. Reapply the lime paint annually or as needed.
