Kiddie Pool Chick Brooder

Use a kiddie pool as a pen for your chicks! Get a plastic kiddie pool, set the kiddie pool on wood blocks to lift it off the ground, and cover the base of the pool with wood shavings. Get a cardboard box that fits well inside the pool, cut four long pieces of wood as legs, and attach the legs along each corner of the box. Cut a hole in the top of the box, put the cord of a heat lamp up through the hole, wrap the cord around a piece of wood, and lay the wood across the top of the box. Line the edge of the kiddie pool with chicken wire when the chicks get bigger.
