DIY Bug Hotel

Help the bugs in your backyard ecosystem by providing a decorative winter shelter! Build a rectangular box out of cedar wood if possible and tightly pack a variety of plant matter into the box in sections. Utilize a variety of materials, such as sticks, pine cones and bark to allow for more diverse insect species to visit the hotel. Hang the bug house on a fence post or tree and consider providing a nearby water source.
