DIY Cardboard Scratch Pad

Turn a cardboard box into a scratch pad for your cat! Cut the cardboard into identical strips and curl the first strip in a tight spiral. Use hot glue to hold the spiral in place and continue winding strips around the circle, adding hot glue at various intervals. Fold a new strip of cardboard and continue wrapping and gluing strips of cardboard around the triangle. Cut off one point of the triangle and glue the triangle to the circle. Cut several short strips of cardboard, bend the strips in the middle and glue the bent strips onto the front of the fish shape for a pointed mouth. Cover the outer edge of your homemade scratch pad with decorative paper or fabric and sprinkle catnip into the corrugated cardboard to entice your cat.
