DIY Cat Scratch Stand

Construct a stand to hold your cardboard scratch pad upright for your cat! Cut a rectangle of wood for the platform base and cut three wood boards for the frame. Sand the wood and paint or stain and seal the wood. Make a cardboard scratch pad by cutting strips of corrugated cardboard to the width needed for the stand and gluing the strips in a stack. Place the cardboard in the frame, cut four wood boards to line the top and bottom edges of the cardboard and use magnets to install the boards so the cardboard can be replaced as needed. Tape a piece of string or ribbon to the top of the stand for your cat to play with, rub catnip into the cardboard and place one end of the stand under a couch or ottoman for added stability.
