DIY Cheshire Cat Costume

Do an Alice in Wonderland themed couple’s costume with your cat! Measure your cat, draw the shape of a cape on a piece of scrap fabric to the size needed for your cat, and cut out holes from the cape for your cat’s arms. Draw a triangle with one rounded edge on some scrap fabric to the size needed for your cat’s head, cut out two matching pieces, and glue the rounded edges together to make the hood. Pin the hood onto the cape, then test the outfit on your cat. Repeat the process with decorative fabric to make the costume, and attach Velcro fasteners along the side edges of the cape. Cut out two matching pieces of cape fabric for the tail, glue pieces of felt between the two tail pieces as stuffing, then attach the tail on the back of the costume. Glue purple stripes over the back of the costume, attach black eyebrows on the front edge of the hood, attach cat ears on the top of the hood, and attach ear fuzz shapes in front of the eats.
