DIY Doghouse Chicken Coop

Modify a doghouse to accommodate your chickens or quail! Measure the front of the doghouse and the angle of the roof, and construct a front porch for the doghouse with a plywood platform and extended roof. Cut four tall wood boards, assemble the boards into a rectangle for the base of the chicken run and drill the rectangle onto the front of the porch. Attach wood beams to the coop porch and rectangle base to enclose the chicken run and staple chicken wire around the rails. Cut off one side of the doghouse, add cross beams to reinforce the open side, cut a wood door with a ventilation hole and attach the door on hinges to the side of the coop. Paint or decorate the chicken coop and tractor, and attach a gate lock to the side door.
