DIY Green Roof Birdhouse

Give your birdhouse a rooftop garden! Build a birdhouse or buy one that has a single-slant roof. Measure the roof of the birdhouse and cut a piece of wood to line each side. Nail the wood for the front edge of the roof in place. Select a plastic container that is an ideal size to fit on top of the birdhouse roof, cut off the top portion of the container and drill the wood blocks for either side and the back of the roof onto the container. Poke some holes along the front edge of the container for water drainage, fill the container with potting soil and transplant several plants into the dirt.
