DIY Hanging Scratching Post

Make a hanging scratching post for your lion, tiger or housecat! Measure the length of your cat and cut a thick piece of PVC pipe to about the same length as your cat. Drill several holes near either end of the pipe, tie several knots in the end of a rope and feed the rope through the holes around the bottom of the pipe. Coat the pipe with glue, wrap the rope around the pipe and feed the rope through the holes around the top of the pipe. Attach a metal A-frame to a pole or tree, use a metal cable to hang the scratching post toy and consider attaching a pulley system to the metal cable to raise and lower the scratching post for added enrichment.
