DIY Hanging Screen Fly Trap
Turn a piece of screen into a fly trap! Cut a piece of screen into the shape needed to make the structure. Sew the edges of the triangles together to make a cone, then sew the edges of the rectangle together with a zipper along the open edge. Use pieces of wire to make a frame for the structure, fit the screen into the wire frame and sew or tie the screen to the frame. Sew the roof onto the structure, tie a piece of wire to each top corner and use the wires to hang the fly trap several inches off the ground. Set a piece of plywood under the fly trap and put food on the plywood that will attract the flies, such as melon rinds or wet eggshells.
Great! I only think it would be easier to make it cylindrical instead of square. A fraction of a circle would do the cone with only one sewing, instead of sewing four triangles. I don’t think it would be hard to attach this cone to the cylinder… would it?
A cylinder sounds like a good idea!
