DIY Log Bird Feeder

Turn a tree log into a bird feeder! Use a board or other straightedge to draw lines across one flat side of the log, sectioning it into three parts. Use a chainsaw to cut out a square from the middle of the log, then cut off the bark from the sides of the middle section. Cut out a rectangle from the middle of either side, then carve out the center of the log. Sand the flat sides of the log smooth, then attach pieces of wood across the top of the open area in the front and back. Stain the wood, attach a hook in the top of the bird feeder, and hang it somewhere your outdoor birds can enjoy it.
