DIY Paper Rodent Bedding

Provide your hamster, rabbit or other rodent with homemade cage bedding! Fill a bowl with water, shred several handfuls of toilet paper, office paper or tissue and place the paper in the water. Allow the paper to soak in the water for several minutes and then break up the paper to make a watery paste. Place a strainer in the sink, pour the mush into the strainer and use your hand to squeeze the excess water out of the paper pulp. Press the paper pulp into several balls and set the balls aside to dry for a few minutes. Rub the damp ball between your fingers to make the desired size of bedding flake off of the ball and allow the bedding to dry on a cookie sheet in the sun.
