DIY Pinata Bird Toy

Use a pinata as a foraging toy, climbing toy or swing for your bird! Draw a design for your pinata and construct your design with various shapes of balloons. Make a mixture of flour and water, cut strips of newspaper, soak each strip of paper in the flour glue and apply the paper to the balloons. Make several layers of the paper mache, pop the balloons and be sure to remove all balloons from the pinata. Decorate the pinata with a layer of paper mache tissue paper, fold strips of tissue paper in half and glue the open ends of each strip onto the pinata like fringe in layers. Fill the pinata with seeds or treats for your birds to forage and hang the pinata in your pet’s cage or play area.
