DIY Pinata Snake Hide

Make a pinata-style house for your pet snake! Cut a cardboard circle for the base of the mushroom, cut a wide strip of cardboard for the walls of the hide and cut a second circle of cardboard for the base of the mushroom top. Design the shape for your mushroom top, cut four pieces of cardboard in that shape and glue the pieces onto the large circle. Cut strips of newspaper and use a mixture of flour and water or diluted glue to paper mache the mushroom together. Allow the paper mache to dry for about a week, coat the paper mache with a waterproofing sealant and cut small strips of tissue paper. Fold the strips of tissue paper in half, apply glue across the cut ends and glue the folded papers to the mushroom in the style of a pinata.
