DIY Tortoise Beak Trim
Trim an overgrown tortoise beak when needed! Wrap your tortoise in a towel. Use a white pencil to draw a line on your tortoise’s beak where the ideal length should be located. Hold the back of your tortoise’s shell against your chest and use cuticle trimmers to clip off the sides of the beak up to the line, being careful not to cut any skin flaps. If needed, use toe nail clippers instead of the cuticle trimmers to trim the front of the beak. When the beak has been trimmed up to the line, use a nail file to smooth the line. Clean any pieces of beak material stuck in the skin flaps, remove the towel and clean off your tortoise.
Please, *how* does one wrap a tortoise in a towel? The moment I have one of her arms secured and am working on the other — boom! She’s free! I can’t seem to control this little gal for any money. Thank you!
