DIY Turtle Pen

Assemble an outdoor pen for your turtles or tortoises! Determine the size of pen needed for your species of turtle and select a partially shaded area of your yard that is near a water hose. Dig a shallow pit in the designated area, pound a PVC pipe into each corner of the area for stakes, assemble a wall around the pit with overlapping roofing tiles and drill the tiles onto the stakes. Cut lengths of PVC pipe, assemble the pipes into the frame with PVC connectors and assemble additional pipes into the roof doors. Use zip ties to cover each roof section plastic mesh and attach the roof doors on hinges to the center pipe. Consider adding a pond to one side of the turtle pen, cover the bottom of the pen with topsoil and mulch, and plant vegetation that is safe for your pet in the turtle pen.
