Picture Frame Bug Cage

Use decorative picture frames to make a cage for your stick insect or preying mantis! Cut a plastic yard sign into the three pieces needed for the box and glue the plastic into a box shape. Use the glass from the smaller picture frame for the front wall and glue the box onto the glass of the larger picture frame. Cut a bamboo mat or placemat to the size needed and glue the placemat into the smaller picture frame. Attach the smaller picture frame for the roof on hinges, cover the floor of the cage with a substrate and furnish the habitat with live plants and sticks for climbing.
