Sponge Bowl Butterfly Feeder

Attract butterflies to your yard with a homemade feeder! Select a bowl for your feeder with a wide opening and thin depth, such as a plastic plant bowl, and set several colorful sponges in the bowl. Make sugar water for your butterflies by boiling water, dissolving sugar in the water and allowing the nectar to cool. Pour the nectar into the butterfly feeder and set the feeder on a plant stand, bar stool or outdoor table.
