DIY Hermit Crab Shell Cleaning

Prepare a new home for your hermit crab! Get a natural, unpainted shell that is an ideal size for your crab. Inspect the shell to insure that any cracks or holes are natural and cannot harm your crab with any jagged edges. Dechlorinate water. Pour enough of the dechlorinated water into a bowl to cover the shell and add some baking soda. Place the shell in the solution, move it around to ensure all air bubbles are removed and let it soak. Remove the shell from the solution, shake out the water and empty the bowl. Pour enough fresh dechlorinated water into the bowl to cover the shell and add an aquarium salt solution. Soak the shell in the solution, then remove it, shake out the water and empty the bowl.
