DIY Horse Space Shuttle Costume

Dress your horse as a space shuttle! Measure your horse or use a horse blanket as a template for the costume. Cut out two matching pieces of fabric for either side of the blanket. Sew the back edges of the blanket together, leave the center open to accommodate the rider astronaut, and attach the front edges and top edges that are in front of the rider with Velcro. Cut pieces of foam for the shuttle wings, sew pieces of fabric to cover the foam like a pillowcase, cut slits in the blanket, and sew the edges of the pillowcases into the slits. Cut letters out of fabric and attach the letters on the sides of the costume. Make faux rocket exhaust pipes with tissue paper flames and attach them on the back of the costume.
