DIY Plaster Formicarium
Use plaster to turn a plastic cage into an ant farm! Cover the wall of a plastic cage with flat plastic wrap, lay the cage on its side and form clay into tubes and chambers for your ant colony. Prop up the top edge of the container, make a plaster mix and pour the plaster into the container. Allow the plaster to harden slightly and then decorate the front of the plaster with sand or pebbles. Allow the plaster to finish hardening, remove the clay and plastic wrap from the plaster and glue the ant nest to the wall of the cage. Wipe the top edge of each cage wall with Vaseline and fill the remainder of the container with a water dish, plants and food for your ants.
