Stryofoam Box Cat Shelter

Provide your outdoor cats or other small critters with an insulated shelter in the winter! Find a large Styrofoam box or cooler, wash the Styrofoam thoroughly and cut a hole high in the side. Cut two wood boards, drill the boards onto the bottom of the box with the board near the entrance laying flat and the other board on it’s side to tilt the shelter slightly toward the entrance and drill a drainage hole in the bottom of the shelter near the entrance. Cover the floor of the shelter with vinyl tiles, fill the box half-way with straw or pine needles and glue the top onto the box. Spray paint or decorate the outdoor cat shelter and place the shelter in a quiet area of your yard.
