DIY Insulated Cat Shelter

Give your outdoor cat or neighborhood raccoon a warm shelter for the winter! Set a small bin inside a larger plastic bin and cut pieces of Styrofoam insulation to fit between the bins. Fill the small bin with straw or pine needles (rags will get damp), place the lid on the small bin and cut a piece of insulation to fit on top of the small bin. Stuff newspaper in any insulation holes, cover the top insulation with newspaper and place the lid on the top bin. Cut a hole out of both bins for an entrance that only a cat or small raccoon would fit through, cut lengths of plastic or wood to line the hole and glue a piece of tarp between the top of each frame piece for a door flap.
