DIY Rat Digging Box

Give your rats a place to dig! Get a plastic container that can easily accommodate your rats. Cut a hole in the lid of the box to make an entrance and sand the cut edges of plastic smooth. Partially fill the box with a substrate that is safe for your pets, such as a mixture of organic compost and sand, hay, or shredded paper. Toss some treats into the box, then sprinkle some extra substrate over the treats. Put the box in your rat’s cage and provide them with a ramp to the box top. Make sure that your rats can easily climb out of the box, and put the end of an anchored  rope through the entrance hole for them to climb out if needed.
