DIY Top Bar Bee Hive

Construct your own bee hive to become a beekeeper! Cut a food-grade plastic barrel in half, clean the inside of the barrel and rub the inside of the barrel with beeswax or lemongrass juice. Attach the barrel to a square frame and attach A-frame supports to either side of the frame. Cut a hole in one side of the barrel if there is not already a bung hole, cover the top of the barrel with thin bars of wood and attach a length of wax-covered string to the center of each bar. Cut a piece of tin to the size needed for the roof, bend down the edges of either side and attach the roof to the frame of the bee hive.
