DIY Water Pump Gravel Vacuum

Make a pump-powered vacuum to easily clean your aquarium! Drill a hole in the top of a plastic bottle and cut off the bottom. Insert a male riser into the bottle top, a female adapter into the other side of the male riser and a piece of PVC pipe in the female adapter. Insert another female adapter into the PVC pipe, wrap plumber’s tape around the threading of another male riser and insert one end of the riser into the female adapter. Attach a ball valve onto the other end of the second male riser, wrap the threading of a male hose connector with plumber’s tape and insert the hose connector in the ball valve. Wrap the threading of two more male hose connectors with plumber’s tape, attach the connectors to the water pump valves and attach a piece of clear tubing between the plastic bottle wand and pump input valve. Stuff polyester filling in the plastic bottle, attach a clear tube on the output valve of the pipe and put the end of the output tube in the aquarium.
