DIY Yarn Spawning Mop

Use yarn to make spawning mops for your fish! Select a dark green color of yarn. Cut a piece of the yarn, lay it horizontally across the top of a standard notebook and tape either end of the yarn in place. Wrap the yarn vertically around the notebook until you have the desired thickness for your spawning mop. Remove the tape from the horizontal piece of yarn and knot that piece to hold the rest of the yarn in place. Cut the yarn along the bottom edge of the notebook. Set a cork under the top fold of the mop, wrap the yarn around the cork and use another piece of yarn to tie the cork in place. Boil a pot of water, remove the boiling water from the heat and soak the spawning mop in the water. Rinse the mop with cool water before putting it in your aquarium.
