Gorm Unit Bird Cage

Turn a shelving unit into a large cage for your birds! Get a gorm unit and remove all shelves except the one that will be the bottom of the cage. Attach the removed shelves along the back of the cage to enclose that side. Cut pieces of wood to make a frame for the front of the cage, cover the frame window with wire mesh and attach the frame onto the shelving unit with eye screws. Cut pieces of wood to frame either side of the cage, add additional sections where needed to create a small door for the birds or to pull out the floor tray, and cover the windows with wire mesh. Attach the side frames on the cage with hinges and use latches to hold the sides shut. Measure the floor of the cage and cut a piece of linoleum to the size needed.
